ECM Fairy/Fae Photo

Submissions of photo-only artwork images. Read the image-rules on Elftown Creature Marathon (In short, it has to be your image and it has to be free to copy, but it doesn't have to be new). The goal of this contest is to get a nice image of a 'typical' fairy to put on top of the Fae page.

In regards to 'stock photos':

The stock image has to be that of an Elftown member and for a photo entry, there has to be a substantial amount added/done with it to enter it. - The Council.

EACH MEMBER MAY SUBMIT ONE (1) ENTRY
Exceptions might be offered if there is a valid reason for it. But, if you do submit more than one image, you will greatly lower your chance of winning, as the votes for your style will be spread out on two entries.

Upload a great looking photograph of a 'typical' fairy or a realistically looking photo-manipulation or a dressed up human in case you can't find a real fairy...

Except for the normal badges and stuff, the winner will get credits on what we hope will be the best page about fairies. We will pick one fairy-photo or more as winners.

Please note the extremely long deadline! It's because fairies tend to be pretty rare and we want the best shots we can get.

THEME:
Any entry that does not follow the "Fairy/Fae theme", will be removed.

MEDIUM:
Photography with a minimal amount of manipulation. We don't want images that look too artistically modified.

Brief description:
Appearance: Mainly female, but there are also males, and child-faeries are actually just as typical as grown fae. They look young, although they may be hundreds of years old. Have thin, almost transparent wings and are often, small creatures, but there are large fairies, too, think of Oberon and Titania. Thanks, [nehirwen] & [windowframe]!

Three important notations:

---> #1: When the finalists are posted in the Main Street Poll or on a public poll page, the participants are not allowed to beg for votes for their own entry. Do not ask people to vote for your entry via private messages, guestbook messages, moods, wikis, or by any other means. Your entry will be disqualified if you are caught doing so. It is perfectly fine to advertise THE POLL, however!
---> #2: If you feel any of the entries break the rules, please speak up before the entries make it to the polls. You can still speak up even after the contest is closed, as long as the polls have not yet gone up yet. Complaints received after the aforementioned will not be considered valid.

The picture of the model (me) is one of the three pictures used in this photo. It's taken by my best friend who goes by the name Voltography on the internet. She has given me permission to use it, edit it, in anyway I want. Because basically all she did - according to her - is push the button. Backgroundpicture and butterfly picture is taken by me and everything is edited by me. Hopefully this is enough credit!

When I turned my Granddaughter into a fairy I used the small photo instead of the large one to save memory on my computer, and so It will take some time for me to redo a larger one (which might not be exactly the same) There are vaitations of her, however, in The Woodland Fairy 2 which are more paint than photo.

It doesn't look much like a photo, but maybe someone who knows more about photography can shed some additional light? :P Don't worry about nit-picking, dear. I want to know what everyone is thinking. 2008-06-01 [arthemis_]: Ehmm, I have an entry, but I don't know if it's realistical looking enough for here. Also, one of the three pictures used isn't taken by me, because I'm the model. But the photographer has given me permission as it was: "just a snapshot at an unappreciated moment having a nice result". The rest is taken by me, and all the pictures have been edited by me. *sigh* long story, but would anybody who knows this kind of thing check the photo up for me? It's on my 'house', the top picture. Many thanks beforehand :D
